We rent bikes here every day, so we hear where people go and what they say when they come back. Here are the rides guests ask about most. Take water, fill your tank in Thong Sala before you leave, and go slow on the small roads after rain — some get slippery.
Short ride: Phaeng Waterfall
Easy one for the first day. Take the middle road out of Thong Sala toward Chaloklum, about 10 minutes and you see the sign for Phaeng Waterfall. Park, walk a few minutes in, and you're in the pools. Good after a hot day on the road.
This one is easy on any of our scooters. No need for a big bike, our small economy ones handle it fine.
North side: Chaloklum and Bottle Beach viewpoint
Chaloklum is a fishing village on the north coast, worth a stop just to see the boats and eat something by the water. From there the road gets smaller heading toward Bottle Beach — you'll need to park the bike and walk the last part, but the view over the bay is one of the best on the island.
Long day out: Than Sadet and Thong Nai Pan
This is the big one, plan half a day. Head east from Thong Sala toward Than Sadet Waterfall — some kings of Thailand visited this one, so it's a proper stop, not just water and rocks. Keep going north along the coast and you reach Thong Nai Pan, two quiet bays that still feel far from everything.
The road here has more hills than the west side. If you're doing the full loop in one day, take one of our sport or maxi-scooters — more power up the hills, and the extra storage under the seat helps if you're bringing a bag for the day.
Sunset stop: Domesila viewpoint
On the way back, Domesila viewpoint looks out over the south of the island and across the water to Koh Samui. Good spot to stop before the sun goes down, and it's close enough to town that you're not riding far in the dark after.
