This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit rentalpoint.org and when you rent a vehicle from us.

Enquiring on rentalpoint.org works entirely through WhatsApp — clicking "Book" opens a WhatsApp chat with your selected dates already filled in. The website itself does not have a form that submits your personal data to our servers, and it does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers.

When you actually rent a vehicle from us, our staff record your name, phone number, rental dates, and a copy of your passport and/or visa in our internal booking system, as is standard practice for vehicle rental in Thailand — for identity verification and to cover liability in case of damage, loss, or an accident involving the vehicle.

This information is stored in a password-protected admin system, backed by a managed PostgreSQL database (hosted via Vercel/Neon). It is only accessible to RentalPoint staff, is never sold, and is not shared with third parties except where required by Thai law (for example, in the event of an accident, theft, or a police request).

We keep your rental record for as long as needed to resolve the rental itself (including any repair or insurance claim) and to meet our own record-keeping obligations. If you'd like your record deleted sooner, contact us and we'll remove it unless we're required to keep it for an open claim or legal reason.

As we operate in Thailand, data handling is governed by Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). If you are located in the EU/UK, you also have rights under the GDPR. Either way, you can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you by messaging us on WhatsApp or calling +66 65 638 0855.

We may update this policy if how we collect or use data changes. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
