RentalPoint rental code
Rules every rental on RentalPoint follows, and what a traveller can expect from them.
1. Honest deposit
- At pickup the rental photographs the bike in your presence in the handover act; at return, in the return act.
- A rental may charge for damage, including by keeping part of a money deposit, only for damage that is visible on the return act photos and is not on the handover act photos.
- No photos in the act — no damage charge. Look through the photos before you sign the act.
2. Passport and deposit type
- The rental states the type of deposit in advance: a passport, money, or the client's choice of the two.
- Showing your passport or giving a photo of it for the contract is not the same as leaving it as a deposit.
3. The price for your dates is the total
- The price you see for your dates is the whole rent for those dates. Nothing hidden is added at the counter.
- Extra services, such as delivery or a second helmet, are only the ones you agreed to, at the price named before.
- A deposit, whether money or a passport, is not part of the price. It is returned at the return. From a money deposit the rental may keep only what is still unpaid on the booking and fines under the contract; for damage, only under the photo rule above.
4. Cancellation follows the rental's policy
- Before you book, the booking form shows the rental's cancellation and early-return terms. Early-return terms are also in your contract.
- A free-cancellation deadline, if the rental has one, is shown as an exact local time. A non-refundable rate costs less and is not refunded.
- After you book, the terms do not become stricter. The rental may meet you halfway and reduce or waive what it keeps, for example in an emergency.
5. A rental cannot hide a review
- Only a traveller whose rental is completed can leave a review, one per booking.
- The rental can reply publicly, but cannot hide or delete a review.
6. Disputes go through the RentalPoint chat
- Write to the rental in the RentalPoint chat: My trips → Messages. The conversation stays on record, with dates, for both sides.
- The rental answers in that chat, not only by phone.
7. What RentalPoint is
- RentalPoint is the booking system and marketplace the rental works in. The rental contract is between you and the rental.
- RentalPoint does not hold deposits, does not insure the bike or the rider, and does not pay compensation.
